Our Mission is to deliver compassionate Health services to the poor and needy.The hospital organizes free medical camps in the villages twice a week.In this medical camp, the villagers avail free checkup and free medicines. An ambulance always kept ready for the serious and needy patients who needs hospitalization.St. Joseph's Hospital has successfully treated cases of Normal Deliveries, Malaria, Dengue,Typhoid, Pneumonia, HTN, Severe Anemia, T2DM(Diabetic Mellitus), CKD(Chronic Kidney Disease),Thalassemia, Hydrocelle, Hernia, Appendicitis etc.
To Make more convenient in reaching the poor patients, the hospital has also empanelled with PM-JAY- AYUSHMAN BHARAT. In this scheme, the patients can avail benefits of free treatment and surgeries.
The concept of starting St. Joseph's Hospital at Bhilai Pahari village in the District of East Singhbhum in the state of Jharkhand began in the year 2003 by the Catholic Diocese of Jamshedpur. A funding agency namely;Likvidace Lepry of Czech Republic came forward to sponsor the infrastructure and aid in the treatment of T.B. & Leprosy patients.The hospital administration sincerely thanks L.L of Czech Republic. With the approval of the Governing Body of the Catholic Diocese of Jamshedpur the construction work began.St. Joseph's Hospital was inaugurated on 12th December 2006 by then Chief Minister of Jharkhand Mr. Madhu Koda in the presence of Mrs. Joba Manjhi, Welfare Minister of Jharkhand and Most Rev. Dr. Felix Toppo, SJ, (Bishop of Jamshedpur and the President of the Hospital), Fr. George Mannarakam(Founder Director of the Hospital), and the members of Jamshedpur Diocese.
The OPD clinic was functioning in the campus from the year 2005 onwards. Around the radius of 15 kms , there are 55 villages and 6 Panchayats with a total population of 50,000 people.The village people of this are come from backward caste,scheduled caste and scheduled tribe.

"Shakuntala Singh, Female, 28 yrs was brought to our hospital on 6th April 2018 by our Outreach Health Worker. She was suspected as Leprosy Patient. Dr. Naushad Akhtar Khan (Medical Officer of St. Joseph’s"
"Mangal Singh, M aged 40, village, Sapanguttu, Maluka was admitted at our hospital on 15th February 2018. He had a complain of cough with bleeding and fever."
"Champa Murmu, F, aged 22, village- Demkadih lost her father because of similar history (TB). Her Brother Mansa Murmu at the age of 20 died on August 2017 because of tuberculosis. She was admitted into our hospital on 24th February with the symptoms of tuberculosis."

Some of the Hospitals in our district were ordered by the Civil Surgeon and the District Government Administration to lend their hand in converting themselves into a complete Covid Care Center. St. Joseph’s Hospital was one of the hospital which was told to be ready with the for the treatment of only Covid Patients.
